Description:
 Expedition to the North Pole: 3 days/2 nights at Base Camp and a flight
to the Geographic North Pole.

April 16th-18th, 2010
Arrive in Longyearbyen on April 14,2009, Depart Longyearbyen on April 20th or later.

This expedition will give you the chance to experience life at an Arctic base camp during
your 3-day/2-nights stay at Base Camp Barneo. You will also go by helicopter to the geographic
North Pole, and may be able to participate in dog sledding or hot air ballooning, provided the
weather is in our favor.

Itinerary from Longyearbyen, Norway

The Expedition begins in Longyearbyen, Svalbard, Norway(an Arctic island north of the mainland
of Norway). See map for details.
Participants will arrive in Longyearbyen, Svalbard via Oslo, Norway. There are flights
arriving daily from Oslo. Call us for assistance.

IMPORTANT:
Each expedition to the North Pole is the ultimate adventure full of random factors. Though we are making all possible efforts to accomplish every expedition, Eagles Cry Adventures reserves the right to change or cancel an itinerary due to weather and /or ice conditions, group fitness, political situation, strikes, wars, revolutions, terrorism and/or other factors beyond its control. Such changes are to be made in our customers’ interests and with regards to their safety.

Suggested Schedule for Participants:
 
1 day
Meeting at Longyearbyen airport. ( Spitsbergen , Norway ), transfer to your hotel.
Guides provide you with polar clothing set.
Briefing. Guides check your equipment and inform you about ice conditions, current situation at Barneo Ice Camp, 89 N, and flight departure time . Any questions welcome.
2 day
Transfer to the airport, security check and boarding
Flight with AN-74 aircraft (weather permitting) to Barneo Ice Camp. (2.30 hours flight duration ).
Acquaintance with Barneo Ice Camp
Accommodation in Barneo warmed tents
3 day
We will fly with MI-8 helicopter to the geographic North Pole at first favorable weather and ice conditions (40 min. Flight duration);
Arrival the North Pole! Celebrations. Satellite phone calls home
A few hours to be spent at the North Pole
Helicopter flight back to Borneo Ice Camp.
Lunch at Borneo mess tent
Accommodation in Barneo warmed tents
4 day
Walks around Barneo
Flight from Barneo to Longyearbyen on the AN-74 aircraft (approx. duration
2 hr 30 min).
Transfer to hotel.
5 day The North Pole Certificate ceremony. Time and place to be announced.

                                                        Qualifications:
It's relatively easy to participate in the program. You simply should be able to move. There are no
special limitations for those who are going to join
North Pole Base Camp Experience. If you can fly
with regular flights, you obviously can do with charter ones. AN-74 is modest but comfortable jet and
MI-8 helicopter is safe but basic. Borneo facilities are designed for winter camping standard of services,
including warmed tents for overnight and for taking meals. We will provide you with
appropriate winter cloth (see the list) for temperatures in between - 20 and - 35 C and you should
be just prepared with warm clothing for inside use . If you need some specific items, please feel free to
request that from us in advance. Check
the list of personal equipment needed.
Having fun at Borneo and at the North Pole includes some walking around and a bit of climbing
pressure ridges of 1 - 2 m high. Be prepared just for that and do not worry: experienced and friendly
guides will take care of you.

 
Please note:
A Deposit of $3,000.00 € Euro is required to confirm your place on the expedition. Of this deposit, $1,000€ Euro will be non-refundable. Deposits will be credited against the balance due at the exchange rate in effect when final payment is made. Any deposit over the non-refundable $1,000.00€ will be returned prior to January 15, 2010, should you cancel your participation with the expedition. Full payment is due prior to December 1st, 2009
After January 15th, 2010, there are no refunds.
Final payments are due prior to January 15, 2010.
Bookings made after February 1, 2010 will possibly have an increase of 10% of the listed price.
This is a limited participation expedition. Register early to insure your place at the North Pole.
