Qualifications
It's relatively easy to
participate in the program. You simply should
be able to fly commercially. There are no special
limitations for those who are going to join
North Pole Express.
If you can fly with regular flights, you
obviously can do with charter ones. AN-74 is
modest but comfortable jet and MI-8 helicopter
is safe but basic. Borneo facilities are
designed for winter camping standard of
services, including warmed tents for overnight
and for taking meals. We will provide you with
appropriate winter clothing for temperatures
in between - 20 and - 35 C and you should be
just prepared with warm clothing for inside
use . If you need some specific items, please
feel free to request that from us in advance.
Check the list of personal equipment needed.
Having fun at Borneo and at the
North Pole includes some walking around and a
bit of climbing pressure ridges of 1 - 2 m
high. Be prepared just for that and do not
worry: experienced and friendly guides will
take care of you.
